Email marketing is an essential part of driving business. It delivers a highly interactive customer touch point that is proven to build company branding and increase sales.
Campaign Monitor recently reported that for every single dollar spent on email marketing, an average of $44 dollars return on investment is realized. That’s a great stat, making email marketing an incredibly valuable selling tool.
The end game you want here is to be able to collect email addresses from your website. Visitor’s who think to themselves, “Hey, this site is really cool! I wonder if they have an email list..” will have a place to fill out a form and sign up to get your awesome messages direct to their inbox.
So, you’re ready to integrate Constant Contact into your WordPress site? Good news: there’s a plugin for that, but we’ll show you the fancy way first.
For starters, visit www.constantcontact.com and get yourself a Constant Contact account.
Step 1: Click on List Growth Tools followed by Create a Sign-Up Form.
Step 2: Customization! This is the fun part. You’ll arrive at a form builder where you may personalize your public-facing email list title and description, your fields list (typically name and email address), logo, font color, background.
Step 3: Once you are satisfied with the look of your form, you’ll return to your List Growth Tools page where you will see your newly created form under Additional Web Sign-Up Forms. Click Actions and Embed Code to view the code you’ll need to add to your WordPress site.
Step 4: You’ve got the code! And if you’re feeling frisky you can manipulate it any way you’d like, but if you’re a non-programmer type, stick with what you’re given. Head back to your WordPress dashboard and hit Appearance > Widgets. Now paste the code you copied from Constant Contact into whichever widget you think best.
Pro Tip: Most companies have email sign-ups on their Contact Us page, but it’s okay to include it right on your site’s homepage, or even as a default sign-up as part of your footer on all pages. Test what works best for you!
That’s it! Now, if you’re not much of a programmer and want an email sign-up form that really packs a visual punch, consider grabbing yourself an easy drag and drop plugin. Bonus: MOJO Marketplace delivers a free Constant Contact plugin. So, hook it up, get started, and get more leads!
